New Tiki Bar Bamboo Club Replaces Deuce's In Wrigleyville, Offering 'Tropical Escape' To Baseball Fans

Jul 25, 2023Jul 25, 2023

The colorful tiki bar has over 32 different cocktails, with live entertainment and raffles happening weekly.

WRIGLEYVILLE — “Your Tropical Escape” is the tagline for a new tiki bar just blocks from Wrigley Field.

Bamboo Club, which opened last month at 3505 N. Clark St., allows visitors to hang out in a tropical setting without leaving the city. It replaces Deuce’s Major League Bar, the popular and massive Wrigleyville party spot which opened in 2011.

The bar features an open patio experience to go along with more than 32 exotic cocktails including the Singapore Sling ($15) and the Lychee Flower Bomb ($15). Bamboo Club also has large “shareables” like the Zombie ($36, serves 2) and the Volcano ($76, serves 2 to 3).

The island-inspired bar is adorned with handmade decorations — from straw huts to tiki torches — offering plenty of opportunities for candid photos or selfies. The large patio has private cabanas and a pool for customers to dip their feet in. Summer crowds will enjoy the warm-weather atmosphere, while winter visitors will likely appreciate the culinary escape to a more tropical climate.

Food options include a variety of smash burgers (starting at $13), wings tossed in a homemade pineapple barbecue sauce ($15), a fried coconut chicken sandwich ($16), pupu platters ($44) and more.

A boozy brunch, available on weekends until 2 p.m., offers a mimosa tower ($32 for 5 mimosas) and chocolate coconut waffles ($12).

On Tuesdays, the venue holds “Tiki Tuesdays,” where you can enter raffles for concert or sports game tickets, among other events. Thursday nights feature live fire dances, where dancers arrive in traditional garb and put on a free show for restaurant-goers.

Jasper Robinson, Bamboo Club’s general manager, wanted to offer something different with a tiki aesthetic in Wrigleyville.

“We want to make sure people are having a good time and get a little vacation from home,” said Robinson. “You know, bring the tropic to Chicago.”

Regardless if you’re there for the drinks or the aesthetic, Robinson feels that the bar-restaurant is somewhere anyone can enjoy.

“It’s a getaway for the mind for a short period of time,” said Robinson. “It’s for the family, for individuals with friends, it’s a place for everyone.”

He recommends making a reservation if you’d like to visit Bamboo Club, which can be done on their website. The establishment is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 11a.m.-midnight Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-3 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday.
