Bite founder and CEO Lindsay McCormick found plastic toothpaste tubes annoying. Though refilling travel-sized shampoos and conditioners on her travels for work was easy, it seemed there was no choice but to keep buying toothpaste. Toothpaste tubes are often made with mixed materials and contain leftover paste, which means that instead of being recycled, an estimated 20 billion tubes end up in landfills annually.
